Board of Directors

The IEEE-ISTO Board of Directors oversees the financial operations of the organization. In this capacity, the Board approves the IEEE-ISTO Business Plan and related outputs. Directors also serve to promote the benefits of industry and government organizations partnering with IEEE-ISTO. The IEEE-ISTO Board of Directors is comprised of industry professionals who serve two year terms. Director candidates are nominated through a formal process via a nominations committee of program peers. Once nominated, a ballot is distributed annually to all board members of active IEEE-ISTO Programs to elect new and/or returning Directors to the IEEE-ISTO Board. The ballot group consists of all current board members of IEEE-ISTO Programs. In this way, members of the IEEE-ISTO Federation, are empowered to help guide the future direction of the organization.

Don Wright

Forrest D. (Don) Wright

President, Standards Strategies, LLC

Mr. Wright, Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the IEEE-ISTO, is the President of Standards Strategies, LLC, an Information and Communication Technology standardization consulting firm offering strategic counsel on international standardization management. Previously, he was the Director of Worldwide Standards for Lexmark International, a leading developer of printing technology and products.

Marco W. Migliaro

Marco W. Migliaro

President and CEO, IEEE-ISTO

Marco W. Migliaro has been involved in the development of standards and standards activities for more than 45 years. He was one of four persons appointed as a director on the IEEE-ISTO Board of Directors, once the IEEE-ISTO was formed. He has also served terms as the President of the IEEE Standards Association and as Vice President of Standards Activities of the IEEE. Mr. Migliaro, elected a Fellow of the IEEE in 1988, is an electrical engineer and is one of the world's foremost authorities on the design, installation, operation, maintenance and testing of stationary battery and DC systems.

 
Gerald T. Lane

Gerald Lane

IEEE-ISTO Director, Gerald Lane is Director of Standards and Open Source for the IBM Corporation.

In this role, Gerry oversees and coordinates IBM’s internal and external standards programs, including intellectual property commitments, legal issues, and policy negotiations with a multitude of standards, consortia and special interest groups. He also coordinates groups of skilled technical and legal professionals who advise the corporation on open source technology, issues and trends.

Roger Martin

Roger Martin

Roger Martin currently is an independent consultant on a wide range of technology standards issues.

Previously he was the Director of Technology Standards Office at AOL. Prior to joining AOL in September 2002, he was the manager of Corporate Standards Strategy for Sun Microsystems for the previous 6 years.

Myron Slota
DIRECTOR
Myron Slota

Myron spent over thirty years in technology and held a variety of leadership positions including technical, program management, business development, and personnel management leading teams of engineers and managers. His career spanned silicon technology development, OEM business development, microprocessor design and development, and most recently open standards.

After graduating from Penn State University with an MSEE, Myron started his career with IBM in silicon technology and device development and worked through three technology generations where he was appointed his first management position.

Yatin Trivedi

Yatin Trivedi

IEEE-ISTO Director, Director of Standards and Interoperability Programs at Synopsys

Yatin Trivedi is Director of Standards and Interoperability Programs at Synopsys. He represents Synopsys on the Standards Education Committee (SEC) of the IEEE-SA, the Board of Directors of IEEE-ISTO and the Board of Directors of Accellera. He represents Synopsys on several standards committees and manages interoperability initiatives under corporate strategic marketing group. He also works closely with Synopsys University program.

Michael Violette, P.E., iNARTE Certified EMC Engineer

President of Washington Laboratories and Director of American Certification Body

Mike is President of Washington Laboratories and Director of American Certification Body. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of EMC evaluation and product approvals and has overseen the development of engineering services companies in the US, Europe and Asia.

Mike is currently on the Board of Directors of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), RABQSA and on the advisory board for the International Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (iNARTE). He is President and Chair of the Maryland-China Business Council.
